What injuries can occur during hunting?
Hunting and gamekeeping work carry an increased risk of injury, especially in hard-to-reach forest terrain, where medical care is often difficult. A reliable first-aid kit for on-site initial treatment is therefore essential.
-
Injuries during gamekeeping work: Abrasions, scratches, cuts, bruises, and contusions. The kit contains plasters, PowerTex Mini Mix, tweezers, tick card, and wound and skin cleansing wipes.
-
Wild animals in panic: Aggressive wild animals can cause bites and stab wounds. Included are wound and skin cleansing wipes, gauze compresses, and WERO dressing packs.
-
Severe bleeding: For severe bleeding, QuikClot® Combat Gauze (Advanced Set) or Lifeguard Compressed Gauze (Basic), as well as Combat Application Tourniquet® Generation 7 and Emergency Bandage T3, are available.
-
Hypothermia and disorientation: For signaling and heat retention, the kit contains a Langer® signal whistle according to EN 394 and a WERO emergency blanket.
Emergency pack for hunting dog handlers
Especially during driven hunts, but also in everyday life, hunting dogs can suffer injuries. Rapid first aid and transport to a veterinary clinic are crucial. The SWAT-T can also be used for injured animals: Place it, wrap it once around the extremity, tighten it, wrap it around again, and check.
